Baby Luigi's 2024 Golf Outing

Updated: Feb 10

In June of 2024, the third annual Baby Luigi Savone Foundation Memorial Golf Outing took place at the Links of Novi. Golfers, sponsors, and donors alike came in numbers not only to golf, but to make new connections, honor Baby Luigi's life and, most importantly for this update, to support the Foundation's mission - a $24,000 donation was made to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital (Mott) as a result of golfer's, donor's and sponsor's extreme generosity.

2024 Golf Outing: Where did the donations actually go?

The Baby Luigi Savone Foundation's mission is to enrich the experience of patients, ease the burdens of families, and empower healthcare workers by raising funds to provide essential support to C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. The donations given during our 2024 outing did just that and we are very pleased to finally announce that the money raised will support Mott in the following ways:

The purchase of a top of the line refrigerator for placement in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Mott.

  • For enjoyment by patient families and staff, the refrigerator will be regularly stocked with food and beverage through a partnership that has been established with The Hen Ann Arbor.

From the Hen: "...It brings us so much joy to contribute in our own small way, knowing that these meals will help bring comfort and nourishment to those facing tough times... At Then Hen, we believe in the power of community and kindness, and it's an honor to be part of this journey with [Mott]. Thank you for letting us share in your story."

The purchase of a BladderScan i10 System and Workstation.

  • Invasive procedures of any kind can increase a patient's risk of infection - bladder scanners allow medical staff to non-invasively determine if a patient needs to have a catheterization procedure, therefore preventing infection in every scan and on every patient.

Foundation members, especially Luigi's mom (Samantha) and dad (Anthony), never cease to be amazed at the outpouring of love that has been seen over the past three years for Luigi, for his family, and for Mott Children's Hospital and all they do. Said best by Anthony himself at last year's outing dinner, "It’s days like today where everyone comes together, where we celebrate our son’s life, and it lifts us. It reminds us how much support we have with friends and family..."

"Thank you very, very much for all that you have done."

It's thanks to each and every one of you that not only our golf outing, but the Baby Luigi Savone Foundation, is finding the success that it is. Let's begin the count down until we see each other on the green again!
